If you haven't yet reached your 65th birthday, be sure to mark it on your calendar - you'll be eligible for Medicare! Unlike Social Security, there's a downside if you don't sign up on time. Your Medicare Part B and D premiums could permanently increase, and you could be denied supplemental coverage. If you plan to keep working, talk to your human
resources department about how this affects your group health plan.
Reminder! If you're already enrolled and you'd like to make adjustments to your current Medicare strategy, you have until December 7th to do so!

Everything You Need to Know About
Long-Term Care Insurance
|
November is Long-Term Care Awareness Month! Statistics show that nearly 70% of Americans that reach age 65 will need long-term care at some point in their lives, and in many situations, costs can be significant.
While no one likes to think about potentially reaching that point in their lives, planning ahead can make all the difference. As you prepare for retirement, it's important to consider coverage that could assist in the cost of a lengthy stay in a nursing facility or in-home care. It's typically better to lock in premiums while you're younger and in most situations, healthier.
Weighing the options and deciding whether or not long-term care insurance (LTCi) is right for you can be overwhelming.
Why buy long-term care insurance? What are the benefits and are there any disadvantages? Am I healthy enough to qualify for coverage? How does it work and what will it cover? We encourage you to take a look at this article that reviews LTCi in greater detail.
Each individual has their own unique situation and many factors come into play when determining whether LTCi is the right move or not. We're here to help! Please call our office at (518) 584-2555 if you'd like more information on LTCi and see if it may be right for you.

The recent market pullback is a good reminder that volatility is normal, even in the strongest bull markets. In fact, since 1980, the average year has seen a 14.2% peak-to-trough pullback. In addition, 21 of the past 41 years saw at least a 10% correction, with 12 of those 21 actually finishing higher.
While market volatility is likely to cause concern, it's important to stay focused on the long term. Take a look at how often pullbacks occur and just how normal they are in the chart below.
