Council is planning to name the new Granville Park Stadium after Rugby legend, Eric Tweedale.
It will be a tremendous honour to have Mr Tweedale, a Two Blues club patron and the oldest living Wallaby player, be part of a significant milestone for this first-class sporting venue in Cumberland City.

Eric Tweedale is one of our favourite sporting sons, the oldest surviving rugby legend at 99 years old and a war veteran.

He enlisted in the Royal Australian Navy during the Second World War. At the time, he was engaged to marry Enid Wagner, employed by Shells Oil Company and playing Rugby for Parramatta (now Western Sydney Two Blues).

The longstanding home ground of the Western Sydney Two Blues Rugby Club in Granville is on its way to being transformed into a multi-use community sport pavilion that residents and sporting groups can use all year round.
