Dear MTC students,
Final exams for the spring semester start Wednesday. I encourage you to take breaks this weekend to refresh in between your studies.
If you are into watching movies, you might find some inspiration on Nextflix from the 2006 movie “The Pursuit of Happyness.” Its message can be summarized nicely in a quote from Will Smith’s character: “Don’t ever let somebody tell you you can’t do something.... People can’t do something themselves, they wanna tell you you can’t do it. If you want something, go get it. Period.”
Here are tips that might be helpful over the next several days.
- Review your syllabus and study guide to narrow list of topics covered by each or the exam.
- Manage your time, and focus on understanding, not memorization.
- Get enough sleep.
For test taking
- Read questions carefully and follow instructions.
- Don’t get stressed, frustrated or worried.
- Review, review, review.
In case you missed it, last night we hosted a “
What’s Up with Summe
r?” edition of MTC Live on Facebook. Drew Newton, Director of Academic and Career Advising, answered questions about the
upcoming summer semester
along with Devin Henson, Associate Vice Provost. Be sure to watch the video, and read the comments. There is good information in both.
Finally, it’s Freestyle Friday! You are invited to join MTC Student Life on Zoom for a
virtual music party
featuring DJ Blake Arambula tonight from 7 – 8 p.m.
