Record Success!
Annual Thanksgiving Basket Drive Exceeds All Expectations!
The spirit of the Viking community shone brightly this Thanksgiving season! As many are aware, a significant number of William M. Raines High School students and their families face food insecurity. Recognizing this need, the William M. Raines National Alumni Association (WMRNAA) launched its Annual Thanksgiving Basket Drive to ensure these families would have nourishing meals during the week-long holiday break.
Initially, school administration identified a need for 32 Thanksgiving baskets. However, fueled by the generosity of our alumni and community partners, the WMRNAA set an ambitious goal of 40 baskets.
We are absolutely thrilled to report that, with your extraordinary help, we exceeded our goal!
The success of the drive allowed us to provide Raines student families not only with enough food for a complete Thanksgiving meal but also with supplies to last the entire week students are out of school. Furthermore, any excess donations will be used by the school to help fill Christmas baskets for student families, extending this vital support into the next holiday season.
