Welcome Steve Crocker

Director of Music Ministries

We are thrilled to share some wonderful news with our church family! The Staff-Parish Relations (SPR) Committee is delighted to announce Steve Crocker as our new Director of Music Ministries.

Steve’s first Sunday with us will be this Sunday, August 3rd. It will be a joyful occasion as we begin this next chapter in the life of our music ministry, one that we hope will continue to inspire and enrich our worship experience.

Steve brings with him a Bachelor of Church Music, a Master’s in Administration, and over 30 years of experience directing choirs, particularly within the United Methodist Church. In addition, he has spent 20 years teaching music at the high school level, reflecting both his passion for education and his dedication to musical excellence. His deep knowledge, infectious enthusiasm, and strong leadership are sure to make a meaningful impact on our church community and beyond.

As Director of Music Ministries, Steve will oversee all of our musical ensembles—including the chancel choir, bell choir, and modern worship musicians. He will also play a vital role in enriching the musical dimension of our worship, helping to create spiritually uplifting and engaging experiences for all.

We are also delighted to welcome Steve’s wife, Valerie, who will be joining us on Sundays—and you might even see her singing with the choir from time to time! Please join us in extending a warm church family welcome to Valerie as well.

In addition, we would like to take this opportunity to express our deepest gratitude to Lauren Sangster, who has faithfully served as our Interim Director of Music Ministries (again!) during this transition. Lauren’s dedication, talents, voice, and grace have been invaluable, and we are thankful for the many gifts she has shared with us. Lauren’s last Sunday will be August 17th, and we will have an opportunity to celebrate her and show our appreciation for her leadership during that service.

Please join us in welcoming Steve and Valerie with open hearts and enthusiastic support as they begin this new journey with us. Together, as one church family, let us continue to grow in faith, fellowship, and the profound gift of music!

Many Blessings,
