Family Policy Advisors

The Family Parent Advisors are parents with personal experience in navigating the child welfare system. Families Together in New York State (FTNYS), in partnership with the New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS), is seeking to employ Family Policy Advisors at the state level to assist OCFS in developing policies and procedures that promote the voice of parents throughout the child welfare system.



Locations: Long Island (Part-time), New York City, Native American Services (Buffalo)

Family Lead Coordinator  (FES)

 Families Together in NYS is seeking to employ a Family Lead Coordinator (FES) for Cayuga County. The FES will act as a liaison between families and Cayuga county, ensure family voice in SOC implementation, and create   awareness of the special needs of families while building positive community partnerships. The FES will earn a Professional Family Peer Credential and engage in trainings for personal skill development.

Administrative Assistant 

The Administrative Assistant/Program Support role at Families Together In New York State involves organizing events, managing communications, maintaining databases, collaborating with teams, and providing general administrative support. Candidates should have 3-5 years of administrative experience, preferably in a non-profit setting, and possess strong skills in Excel, MS Word, database systems, and IT coordination.

Family Peer Engagement Advocate



Family engagement advocates are parents / caregiver who have first-hand experience with the Child Welfare system, and who have exhibited qualities in their own efforts to develop permanency plans for their children with an understanding of how the Child Welfare system works. The preferred candidate possesses a positive attitude, sincerity, and a willingness to help others. In order to be considered for this position, the family peer engagement advocates’ case must be closed, and they must be maintaining family stability.
