As we wrap up the first semester of this school year, I hope each of you enjoyed a Happy Thanksgiving among family and/or friends and are heading toward the winter break with a renewed sense of purpose and confidence in what 2026 holds for your organizations and the students you serve.

We want to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who submitted feedback on the proposed, amended permanent administrative rules for our agency and to those who worked alongside our team to refine them. Your engagement helped ensure the rules - scheduled for a vote by the Statewide Charter School Board on Monday, Dec. 8 - are aligned with national best practices and reflect the thoughtful, collaborative spirit that has defined our work together.

There is much to be excited about in Oklahoma’s charter school community. The number of letters of intent submitted in the past several weeks for potential authorization speaks to both the momentum of public-school choice in our state and the growing confidence in an authorizing system committed to quality. Equally encouraging is the increasing cohesiveness of the charter community itself. During the last 18 months, I have appreciated a connected network of school leaders, board members, and partners working toward shared goals and higher standards for all students. Our team is excited by the potential and opportunity 2026 is bringing us.

Thank you for your partnership and for the work you do every day. We wish each of you a joyous and memorable winter holiday break in the coming weeks!
