Happy New Year! We hope this message finds you in great spirits as we embark on another year filled with growth, collaboration, and community spirit. We're excited to share some fantastic news with you regarding the restructuring of our committees for 2024.
After thoughtful consideration and in alignment with our five pillars of purpose, the Kearney Chamber of Commerce is ushering in a new era of engagement, focus, and impact. These changes are designed to strengthen our community bonds, empower business excellence, and develop visionary leadership. Here's a glimpse of the exciting transformations:
1. Celebrate Our Businesses with the Celebration Committee:
Formerly the Harvest Gala Committee, this committee will be dedicated to creating unforgettable moments that celebrate the vibrant spirit of our members. From festive events to joyous gatherings, the Celebration Committee is your ticket to spreading cheer and fostering a sense of togetherness.
2. Empowering Business Excellence with the Ambassadors:
Our Ambassadors will continue to channel their energy into empowering business excellence. As part of this committee, you'll have the opportunity to support and elevate local businesses, fostering an environment where every enterprise can thrive.
3. Supporting Local with the Tourism Development Committee:
The Tourism Development committee will focus on purposefully supporting local initiatives. By becoming a part of this team, you'll contribute to the growth and sustainability of our community, making a real difference where it matters most.
4. Strengthening Community Partnerships with the Board of Directors:
Our Board of Directors have taken on the crucial responsibility of strengthening community partnerships. This team will continue to work tirelessly to foster collaboration and synergy, ensuring that Kearney, and Holt, continue to be a communities where everyone thrives.
5. NEW! Developing Visionary Leadership with the Leadership Committee:
We are thrilled to introduce a brand-new committee focused on developing visionary leadership. Joining this committee opens doors to personal and professional growth, allowing you to shape the future of Kearney/Holt and leave a lasting impact on our community.
Other ongoing and short-term committees include the Finance Committee, Nominating Committee and Scholarship Committee. The Finance Committee recommends financial policies, goals, and budgets that support the mission and pillars of the Chamber. The Nominating Committee meets during the month of April to determine the next slate of candidates for the Board of Directors. The Scholarship Committee meets once each April to review KHS scholarship applications and determine the recipients of our two scholarships.
