The California Housing Partnership is excited to announce the launch of two new clean energy programs that multifamily affordable rental housing providers can use in 2022 to help finance sustainability upgrades during new construction or for existing building retrofits.

**NEW** Building Initiative for Low Emissions Development (BUILD)
  • New construction, major retrofits
  • Location: California
  • A program of the California Energy Commission (CEC)

**NEW** Comprehensive Affordable Multifamily Retrofits (CAMR)
  • Existing buildings
  • Location: Los Angeles County
  • A program of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP)
BUILD
Learn about the BUILD program which encourages all-electric new construction and major retrofits for multifamily affordable housing developments in California (including: building planning, project fuel-switching, low-emissions building design and technologies, and financial incentives).


CAMR
Learn about the CAMR program which supports whole-building, energy efficiency retrofits for multifamily affordable housing developments in LA County (including: efficiency upgrades, solar PV, financial incentives, property assessments, work scope, and contractor procurement).
