Central Virginia Electric Cooperative (CVEC) has a unique build at Wintergreen Resort.
This is a ski/golfing resort within the CVEC footprint; where a mix of single family units and condominiums make up the housing stock on the mountain. The pictures below are those of a line crew preparing to place a “stranded innerduct”. This will enable them to place the strand/duct then pull the fiber through; creating less work as they will not have to pull a lasher to overlash the fiber to a strand. This can be hazardous work! All placement on the mountain is being done with micro-trenching and is going at a rate of approximately 5,000 feet per day being placed.
The 10k Club:
Congratulations to the following electric co-op's on having over 10,000 members connected. We couldn't be more proud of you and are grateful to be able to assist you with your fiber to the home journey.
