Welcome back, Beach!
Year two of Future U construction is underway—and this fall, the project is building up. Steel is arriving on campus, marking the start of vertical construction on the new 61,000-square-foot USU expansion.
The expansion will feature a new Marketplace with eight food vendors—including the Nugget—plus expanded ballroom, meeting and event spaces.
WHAT TO KNOW THIS FALL
- ASI programs and services remain available, with many located in PH1. Find resources and study spaces through the Future U Quick Access guide, conveniently located in your SSO.
- Current pedestrian and ADA-accessible routes are expected to remain in place. You can see all pedestrian pathways on the interactive map.
- New food options include Coastal Coffee, Playa Tacos y Más and the upcoming Beach Bodega. Check out all the food locations and their hours of operation on the Where to Eat page.
- Order ahead from participating Beach Shops locations with Beach Eats.
HELP SHAPE FUTURE U
Students will have opportunities to share feedback on furniture, finishes and other features inside the new USU. The first opportunity is coming to Smorgasport, where we're celebrating 25 years of one of The Beach's favorite traditions.
