January News
Hi Janice ,

Things were very quiet in the sewing room during December as the days were filled with holiday preparations. However, we are looking forward to what is in store for 2022! We have two new exciting classes to offer you this year. See In The Classroom below for details.

Here's what is happening in the sewing room as we kick off 2022...
On the Design Wall

I am working on additional blocks for the upcoming 2022 Wildflower Garden BOM.

Here is a sneak peek of a sample of one of the blocks on the shawl.

Each block will be different with a variety of techniques to learn as you stitch your own wildflower garden!

Make the shawl, make individual blocks to frame, for pillows, or as a quilt top. The possibilities are truly endless!
On the computer design wall is the pattern for the upcoming French Floral quilt.

I think it is taking longer to write and illustrate the pattern than it did to actually stitch the quilt!

Here is another fabric option for the design. This is sister Sandy's fabric choice.

I love how this design lends itself to everyone's personal design sense and fabric choice.

Coming soon! Stay tuned!
All of my blocks are completed for my Tumbling Blocks quilt, designed by Rita Verroca.

The sashing and borders are added, and now it is off to the quilters!

This is a great pieced and appliqued quilt project. It was fun to stitch and I learned a few new techniques, tips and tricks along the way!

AND it is a great stash buster!

Contact Rita here if you are interested in the pattern.

Stitches & Techniques
Each month this section will highlight a new-to-me stitch or technique. I will share a pdf of the technique or a video link so you too may learn along with me. Click here to visit our website for additional tutorials.

Sharon B of Pintangle has a new set of Stitchers Templates. This is a great way to stimulate your creativity in 2022. Each set comes with a downloadable e-book filled with patterns and designs. Click here for more information on the new set. There is also a video of Sharon showing how she uses the templates.

I doodled this design using the Set 3 templates and inspiration from an antique quilt block.

I am using simple, basic embroidery stitches and flouche embroidery thread to stitch my doodled design. If you would like to give the design a try, here is a pdf for you to enjoy!
