NEW! Georgia Department of Education Releases Revised Dyslexia Informational Handbook

We couldn't wait until the August News to let you know the 2019 Dyslexia Informational Handbook has been revised and is ready for YOU to READ! This 2024 handbook provides information to help everyone get on the same page. It is for parents, educators, and anyone wanting to understand more about dyslexia, appropriate interventions, and Georgia's dyslexia legislation. Updated sections incorporate the requirements of the Georgia Early Literacy Act, reflect improved alignment with Georgia Multi-tiered System of Supports (GaMTSS), and guide educators in Identifying and Addressing Reading Difficulties Across the Tiers. New sections include an overview of the Science of Reading and Considerations for English Learners At Risk for Dyslexia.

The perfect companion to the GaDOE Dyslexia Informational Handbook is the special Winter 2024 issue of Perspectives. This 75th Anniversary edition focuses on the instructional approach called Structured Literacy.
