Blue Ribbon Committee

Approves LCLT Grant Application

From the Desk of the Executive Director:

On Friday March 27th the Blue Ribbon Committee for the Rehabilitation of Clear Lake voted to approve the 2026-2027 funding recommendation for the The Lake County Land Trust (LCLT) grant project proposal titled "Lake County Land Trust Conservation, Restoration, and Stewardship Improvement and Capacity Building Project."

This project, when funded, will provide up to $604,450 for about 3-5 years for the LCLT to conduct normal stewardship operations on all their current properties, provide education and outreach, continue and enhance tribal partnerships, and prepare for future property acquisitions. This grant is essential to maximize donor contributions for valuable land conservation, protection and restoration. The specific source of the funding is yet to be determined but could be granted and allocated from the Governors 2026-2027 Budget package or Proposition 4 funds that were earmarked specifically for Clear Lake projects. More information and exact timing and disbursement of funds will be announced closer to June-July!

Thanks to all the board members, supporters, and partners who supported the effort and a special thanks to all our partners who provided letters of support for this project and the LCLT! We couldn't have done it without all of you and your organizations!

Cheers!

Angela De Palma-Dow, Executive Director, LCLT

Land Tending at Rodman Preserve

Thank you to all the folks who volunteered for the Land Tending Day on March 29, 2026. It was a very productive day with a multitude of projects going on. Volunteers helped unload a truck load of branches for pathway borders, installed two large planters in front of the Nature Center, removed over 100 feet of old fencing, and weeded around native grasses at Rodman. We wrapped up the day with lunch, provided by the LCLT, on the shaded porch of the Nature Center. It was a great day with beautiful weather!

The Land Tending group meets once a month, usually the third Sunday. If you would like to be a part of this volunteer group check out our website where you can learn more and RSVP your attendance to a Land Tending day.
