RedRock Strategies today announced the expansion of their Florida footprint! Greg Ungru and Skylar Swanson now join Senior Strategist Kayla Lott to expand the company’s Florida operations. Ungru will serve as Senior Strategist, and Swanson will serve as Digital Strategist, respectively.

Here is Kayla’s bio:
Kayla Lott, RedRock’s first Florida hire, was originally a New York native and began her career over a decade ago in the New York State Senate. During her tenure in New York, Kayla quickly rose in the ranks and became Deputy Press Secretary where she was tasked with sharing the voice of an entire caucus while playing a prominent role in many successful political campaigns in the off season. Kayla moved to the Sunshine State and prior to joining the RedRock team served as Chief of Staff to Florida State Senator Keith Perry. In addition to her work in the public arena, Kayla also ran Senator Perry’s successful 2016 and 2018 election campaigns in a wildly competitive district.
Kayla graduated from Siena College with degrees in Political Science and Sociology and enjoys going to concerts, attending New York Giant games (though usually with a depressing outcome), spoiling her nieces and spending time at the lake with family and friends.

Greg Ungru brings more than 20 years of political and communications experience— serving under four Florida governors, at the highest levels of government, and consulting for numerous candidates and campaigns across 13 states. Ungru has held leadership positions at the Florida Department of Elder Affairs, Marsy’s Law for Florida, LeadingAge Florida, the Florida Sports Foundation, Department of Economic Opportunity, and Republican Party of Florida.
Greg has a unique understanding of the connection between communications and the policy world. Ungru has insight into the implementation, grassroots, and messaging aspects of politics. Having held various political, advocacy, and public relations roles, Greg is entrepreneurial minded, innovative, and sought-after strategist in the corporate, political, and public affairs space.
Greg Ungru was an Evans Scholar at The Ohio State University. Currently he is pursuing his Master’s in Business Administration at Florida State University. Greg and his wife Jennifer and their daughters Elaine and Molly (and Human Society dog, Lucky) reside in Tallahassee.

Skylar Swanson began her career in politics after graduating from Florida State University in 2015. Starting in Keith Perry’s legislative office, she moved to his campaign staff where she served as Fundraising Director for his 2016 & 2018 legislative campaigns. After Perry’s 2018 victory, Skylar transitioned to the Florida House of Representatives, where she served in the House Majority Office as Communications Director. In 2020, Swanson joined Attorney General Ashley Moody’s communications team. She is currently earning her Master’s in Political Communication at the University of Florida.
Skylar resides in Tallahassee where she enjoys attending FSU games with friends and spending time with her rescue pup Kramer.
