Some amazing grant projects came to us this year, which meant the selection process was even more engaging as we determined which of the deserving projects would get funding from the History Foundation. We received requests totaling almost $247,000, and while we would love to fund them all, we had to make some tough calls. Today, 36 projects across Montana now have new funding to help preserve or restore Montana's history. We are excited to grant over $126,000 this year.
Just a few of the exciting projects this year include restoring the collapsed chimney on the WW2-era Crew Chief building at the Lewistown Airport, restoring an 1872 cider mill for educational use in Missoula, documenting the history of women prisoners in the Deer Lodge prison, and SO MUCH MORE!
