Letter from the Director
Dear MJM Family and Friends,

A treasured blessing of living in Piedmont North Carolina is the distinction of each of the four seasons. With the renewal of each season, year after year, often I find myself saying, “This is my favorite time of the year!” While the existing pandemic season has had an enormous toll on each of us in many different ways, I think it is safe to say we are ready to move on to the next season!

In years past, Mount Jubilee Ministries has often been recognized as a one season ministry. With each new summer, dozens of our friends with specials needs attend Camp Jubilee for their most favorite season of the year. One of MJM’s visions is to provide a ‘“camp like” season on a daily basis for as many individuals as possible. This dream is becoming reality with the opening of His Path Developmental Day Program in Rockingham County.

Having a strong and growing leadership team, MJM is poised to begin expanding the His
Path program model into neighboring communities. While the thought of expansion could be somewhat intimidating, MJM is confident that we are walking step by step with the Father. In a nutshell, MJM wants to be a steady stream of God’s unfailing love by providing Christ-centered programs, not seasonally, but every day!

As Mount Jubilee Ministries works diligently to expand our programs and services to the many in need, we covet your prayers and support.

Most sincerely,
Cecil Cottrell
Executive Director

2020 Mount Jubilee Ministries Fundraising Event
Exceeds $55,000 Goal!

As the spread of Covid-19 began impacting nearly every aspect of life in March, fundraising for nonprofits was surely expected to be compromised. Planning for the 5th annual Family Fun Walk and Live Auction was in full swing when the virus shut our nation down. Mount Jubilee Ministries began altering our plans and finally had to abort the idea of gathering for an in person event. However, we were confident that fundraising strategies from years past would again be successful, even in times of a global pandemic.

Fundraising teams were developed by MJM families, board members, churches and friends to account for 43% of the combined campaign effort. Local businesses and corporations rose to the occasion once again, giving generously to make up 37% of the total funds raised. Our online virtual auction was a whopping success bringing in the final 20% of the grand total to equal $63,002!

Financial support from individuals, businesses and churches is the cornerstone of success for any nonprofit. Mount Jubilee Ministries has been fortunately blessed to increase and surpass our fundraising goals for five consecutive years! We are most grateful to ALL of you for your continued support once again!

His Path Has Re-Opened!

On December 2, 2019, Mount Jubilee Ministries experienced our first expansion of programming as we opened His Path Developmental Day Program! We were so excited as we recognized God’s provision for this opportunity to serve our friends with I/DD on a daily basis. Just as the enthusiasm and number of participants were increasing, you guessed it…Covid-19
forced us to close.

Following much prayer and careful deliberation, His Path re-opened our doors on September 28th! In an effort to best steward our resources and to meet the needs of our families, we are operating 3 days a week: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday during the hours of 8:30-4:30 PM. Currently we have 8 participants and open enrollment continues.

The joy and excitement of those attending is contagious! Parents of our participants are in awe at the happiness they are witnessing in their children since the program has resumed! His Path volunteers have returned and we are adding so much to the quality and safety of the program. In the first two weeks we have enjoyed:
  • Daily Bible stories, worship and singing
  • NC Extension Programming
  • Horticulture Therapy
  • Music Therapy
  • Line Dancing
  • Arts & Crafts
Recently a former teacher asked Jake what his favorite part of His Path was, he said: "The Bible stories...I really like the Bible stories!"
