Pay-it-Forward November is off to a great start. If you haven't been able to follow our daily posts on social media, we wanted to get you caught up on what's been happening and share with you some exciting news!

Here is a review of our posts from week 1. If you don't yet follow us, we can be found on Facebook and Instagram. And if you already follow us, please help share our posts and grow our audience.

As we strive to put a special focus on gratitude and generosity all month long, we already have so many reasons to be thankful.

  • Word is quickly spreading about our new Pay-it-Forward Cafe. Yesterday, a teller at the bank asked how she could volunteer once we opened, and the administrator at the water department said she couldn't wait to come and dine with us. It's so much fun to see the community getting excited about what we are creating and already wanting to support it.

  • At the building, real progress is being made. Most of the plumbing has now been repaired. Our new ductwork in the attic is completed and we have been told all of the furnaces should be up and running November 18. But, perhaps most exciting to us, is that construction will begin on the new walk-in coolers this afternoon! After spending the past two months tearing things apart, we are so excited to start seeing it all go back together again.

HELP NEEDED! We have been without water at the building for the past week or two, and some very dusty and dirty demo has occurred, so the entire space is in need of a deep clean. We have set aside tomorrow, Saturday November 9 as another work party day. If you would like to join us to help clean, hang drywall (no mudding or taping), or repair ceiling tile grid, we would love to have you. Both morning and afternoon shifts are available. Please consider giving. There are several opportunities available to help support the work we are doing.

Pay-it-Forward Thanksgiving Volunteer Opportunity

For the past 2 years, in collaboration with Community Bible Church, we have served a traditional Thanksgiving lunch for 150 kids at Innovative Academy, an alternative high school in Howell with a large at risk student population.

We would love some help this year preparing the meal. Please consider joining on Tuesday, Nov. 19 from 4-7pm as we cook a special meal for some very special kids.
