What: "Praise The Lord" Concert Celebrating God's Gifts

Who: The concert will feature Dr. Michael Carter, Jill Truax, Moss Rogers, Lance Lunceford, Emily Graves, Richie Mola, and Dave Mundy.

All are welcome for a classical concert featuring local musicians as we celebrate God's musical gifts in the First Baptist community!

A love offering will be collected benefiting the 48th annual performance of Handel's Messiah.

New Members/ Inquiring Guests Class

Meeting the month of September & First Sunday of October @ 9:15 AM in the Education Building Room 105.

Join Pastor Joe for this informative new members/inquiring guests class. This 4-week Sunday School study will include a free members' guide and book. The classes will cover First Baptist values and mission, ministries, opportunities for growth, and fun facts about worship and discipleship.

These are exciting times at First Baptist Church as we enter the autumn season! We have several opportunities for involvement this week including welcoming a new Family Ministry Intern and his family, a "Praise the Lord" concert, music rehearsals starting back and other gatherings. So take a look and see where God is leading you to participate this coming week.

From the Pastor's Desk...

Welcome our new Family Ministry intern, Bruno Soltic!

Next week, we welcome our new Family Ministry intern, Bruno Soltic as part of the ministry team at First Baptist Church!

Bruno, his wife Brielle, and their children came to Vero Beach from Texas. He is a Ph.D. candidate in the field of biblical archeology at Southwestern Theological Seminary. Brielle is a physician's assistant here in town. Their twin sons, Alex and Leo attend the FBC preschool.

Bruno has worked with youth and young families in a variety of settings. He was a leader at a few church youth camps, served as a chaplain, and even worked for Disney cruises for a time. He is native of Croatia and moved to Texas shortly after college where he met and married Brielle.

As a Family Ministry intern, Bruno will work with middle and high school students and families with children and youth. He is also tasked with being a representative of First Baptist Church and the presence of Christ in the community. The internship affords him ministry coaching and the experience of serving on our staff, attending staff meetings, and serving in worship and discipleship experiences.

Bruno has successfully passed a vigorous interview process, which included a formal interview with representatives from our personnel committee and our staff, a background check, and an informal interview with our youth leadership team and our youth! He begins on Monday, September 25th.

The church will have several opportunities to meet Bruno over the next few weeks. We will introduce him to you during our World Communion Sunday worship service on October 1st at 10:30 AM (no 8:00 AM service that day). We will have a "get to know you" fellowship on a Sunday night in place of Pastor's Bible Study in early October. He may teach one Wednesday night adult Bible study in late October-letting him stretch some of his academic muscles for us!

All are invited for our joint Worship Service at 10:30 AM (no 8:00 AM service) to celebrate with Christians around the world for World Communion Sunday!

We will celebrate with our neighbors on campus, the Iglesia Bautista Monte Sion church, as well as the new Director of Missions of the Treasure Coast Baptist Association, Rev. Tim O'Carroll. The service will feature a variety of worship movements, co-preaching by Rev. Dr. Joe LaGuardia and Pastor Jose Diaz, and communion for believers in Christ.
