President's Corner

Good morning, Seven Pearls Family!

I am excited to present to you the very first issue of our Morning Announcements! We are thrilled to launch this new monthly newsletter, which will replace our previous, “Did You Know?” updates. With this new communique, we bring you exciting Foundation news, inspiring stories, and upcoming opportunities to engage with our mission of empowering women and girls.

At Seven Pearls Foundation, we believe in crowning efforts with success. This means we focus on recognizing and celebrating the action—the tireless efforts made by people who may not have all the resources they need to achieve their goals but still give everything they have to make a difference in this world. In communities where hope and motivation can sometimes seem inconsequential, emphasizing the power of efforts reminds individuals that their actions do matter. Our persistence in the face of adversity doesn’t just lead to positive change. We feel it defines it and also defines us. Success isn’t just about the destination—it’s about the journey, and every attempt it takes to get there.

Thank you for supporting us and being a part of this new journey as we continue to build on the legacy of the Seven of ‘1922’ and work toward a brighter future for all.

Introducing Canvas of Change: The Power of STEM Through Performing Art

We’re excited to unveil Canvas of Change, a dynamic two-part STEM experience designed specifically for girls in grades 6–8. Led by Dr. Adrienne Unae Dozier, Director of Creativity and Engagement; award-winning STEM educator Dr. Marquita S. Blades; and Ocielia Gibson Sprowl, former Miss Black USA and author of REIGN: A Young Woman's Guide to Embracing Her Crown and Achieving Success, this opportunity combines the power of STEM with the art of performance to spark imagination, build confidence, and encourage innovative thinking.

Why "Canvas of Change"?

The name Canvas of Change symbolizes a blank canvas—full of endless possibilities. Just as an artist transforms a blank canvas with each brushstroke, these young girls will use STEM tools and creativity to reshape their world. While the performing arts will enhance the experience, the core of Canvas of Change is to empower girls to think like innovators—tackling challenges, pushing boundaries, and finding solutions using STEM concepts. This isn’t about adding the arts to STEM but rather using the arts as a vehicle to showcase and amplify the problem-solving, teamwork, and creative thinking at the heart of STEM education.

Live at Keys of Gold Weekend – June 27–28, 2025

Part 1 – Imagine It! (Friday, June 27)

Participants will draw a mystery item from a chest and collaborate in teams to redesign and reimagine it using STEM concepts. Through sketching, prototyping, and refining their ideas, they’ll learn how to bring abstract concepts to life and prepare for a live audience.

Part 2 – Perform It! (Saturday, June 28)

The stage is set for the big reveal! Teams will present their STEM-driven creations through live storytelling and performance. All teams will be recognized for their efforts and achievements, but one outstanding team will win trophies for demonstrating creativity, innovation, and team spirit. This celebration highlights the power of imagination, problem-solving, and the excitement of bringing ideas to life.

Know a Girl Who Should Be in the Room?

Nominate her for The STEM Experience today! Whether she’s passionate about science, technology, engineering, math, or just loves a good challenge, this is her chance to shine! The fee to participate is $80, which covers all materials, meals and the experience.
