HUB Update
The state has updated it's disability information website to be more accessible. This website consolidates resources for residents with disabilities, their caregivers, and advocates, providing information on food, income, and employment assistance, as well as support programs, vocational rehabilitation, and personal care services. Still Need to Book a Trip?
The Grand Strand, including Myrtle Beach, is renowned for its popularity with over 19 million visitors annually and is known as the “birthplace of the autism-friendly travel initiative.” The Champion Autism Network (CAN) and Autism Travel Club (ATC) have developed a comprehensive autism and sensory-friendly network, certifying local businesses and essential workers to create more welcoming environments. With over 30 certified businesses and a digital Autism Traveler app, Myrtle Beach is recognized as an autism-friendly destination, offering various accommodations to enhance comfort for families. Adventures without Barriers
This August, Pinelands Adventures is offering three “Adventures without Barriers” at nature sites in Burlington County, designed for those who face mobility challenges but wish to explore the outdoors. The programs, which will continue into September and October, feature accessible routes and rugged terrain wheelchairs available for loan. The cost is $10 per participant, with financial assistance available; attendees must arrange their own transportation. Full article here.

Jake's Law & Green Acres Grant
This South Jersey nonprofit is enhancing accessibility with inclusive playgrounds in several several towns. Under Jake's Law, state aid is funding a $1.8 million playground at New Brooklyn Park in Winslow and a $1.6 million upgrade at Long Bridge Park in Hainesport, with additional grants for Monroe, Washington Township, Evesham, and Pennsauken. These playgrounds feature accessible surfaces, ramps, and specialized equipment to ensure all children can play and learn together.. Read more.
