Exciting Progress at Antelope Butte
Dear friends,

We've had several snow flurries at Antelope Butte in recent weeks, along with a flurry of activity as we work hard to gear up for the winter season. With a little help from Mother Nature, opening day will be December 20th, 2019.

September was a busy month as staff worked with many great volunteers to clear trees and shrubs from the slopes. Grateful thanks to Rob, Tori, Aiden, Ethan, Tyler and Rachael Milne; Josh, Colleen, Addie, and Gavin Shaw; Jim and Tami Sorensen; Mark and Julie Weitz; Tony Tarver; Jim Benepe; Seth, Mandy and (9 month old) Orrin Roseberry; Ryan White and Van Wright for your hard work and help.

Another great goal achieved is the installation of the crazy-looking space tube that you see in the photo above. The Sun Kids Conveyor Lift will keep our beginners warm and dry as they gently glide up the hill. Huge thanks to the Wyoming Business Council, Big Horn County, our incredible donors, staff and volunteers for the time, energy and funding to get this lift in place. Our mission is focused on youth and beginners, and this lift allows us to focus on fulfilling that mission.

I can't help but think that one of the reasons Antelope Butte is such a special place is because so many of you have supported our mission, donated to the project, worked hard to make thoughtful improvements, and volunteered to help tend the spaces.

Antelope Butte is great because we're building it together.

Thank you,

John Kirlin, Executive Director

Lodge Update
The team is working hard to finish renovations of the 11,400 square foot Antelope Butte Lodge.

The Lodge will be the hub of all of our year-round mountain activities--hosting, teaching, learning, sharing, laughing, playing and celebrating. It's where all will gather to take a break, grab a bite, make new friends, enjoy a beverage après-ski and reminisce about the great day. The Lodge is the place where memories will be made!

We're making good progress, thanks to our donors and partners. Recent updates include:

  • Roofing was completed by Wyoming Roofing.
  • Aluminum siding material was supplied by Edge Exteriors and was installed by Affordable Siding Solutions.
  • Zowada Plumbing, Powder River Heating, Current Electric, and Wyoming Electric have all been working hard roughing in the plumbing, HVAC and electrical.
  • Cosner Construction has been doing a fantastic job with framing and trim work.
  • Thompson Master Masons were able to build the walls for the water storage and treatment room in a day!
  • WWC Engineering has been diligently crunching the numbers and completing drawings to ensure that our water system exceeds all of our demands.

The next phase of construction includes finishing the HVAC, plumbing and electrical work; interior walls, exterior siding, soffits and gutters. Click the link below to find out how  you  can be involved.
