Sunday School

Kindergarten through 6th graders

Sunday school is back!

Each Sunday, we'll be offering programming for our K-6th graders. Some Sundays we'll have traditional Sunday School with a Bible Lesson or Godly Play, some we'll have the kids do a service project (Giving Back Sundays), and some we'll host a Stay & Play Sunday where we encourage our kids to worship together and stay for fellowship after. All activities will run from 9:30 - 10:15 am unless otherwise noted. We know that families are very busy so we hope you will join us on the Sundays that fit your schedule. There is no homework or prep needed!

Confirmation Class

Confirmation is an intentional space and time for young people to explore the promises made in baptism. Students are encouraged to explore issues of formation and discipleship in a way that informs both the present and the future and prepares them to participate more fully in the life and mission of the Church. This is a 2 year program that meets on Sunday nights during the school year from 6:00-7:15 unless otherwise noted. There will be learning, fellowship, and fun!

Classes will begin on 10/16 and will be held at St. Michael Lutheran Church.

  • Know that they are welcomed and loved as they are
  • Can gather to build meaningful connections between God, faith, and real life
  • Have a safe space to wrestle with questions and for dialogue
  • Will know they are loved by God, one another, and that they have a supportive community
  • Will build meaningful relationships
  • Foster a heart for serving others as Jesus teaches us to love our neighbor

We will meet once a month on Sunday Evenings from 5:00-7:15 for food, fun, and formation. We are also working on coordinating volunteer opportunities.

Bhagavad Gita Book Study

Wednesdays beginning September 21st

6:30pm-7:30pm via Zoom

Please join us for this new spiritual book club. The Bhagavad Gita is the most widely utilized spiritual text in the world. We will read the book together and discuss the story and philosophy. We will follow the edition by Eknath Easwaran (available on Amazon, etc.).

The Bhagavad Gita centers around an impending war. The leader of the army is the heroic archer named Arjuna. Arjuna becomes a metaphor for our highest self. Arjuna's chariot driver, Krishna, is said to be a descended form of God. Krishna becomes the metaphor for our higher consciousness. The Gita is a dialogue between Arjuna and Krishna as Arjuna doubts himself on the battlefield, and Krishna gives wise advice to help him get through his struggles. Krishna gives Arjuna the confidence to fight the battle and win the war. (War is used as an allegory for the constant battles of everyday life.) The Bhagavad Gita illustrates timeless wisdom for our own internal war, and the quest for self-realization every human engages in.
