JULY 2026

Be the First to Read Our

2026 Affordable Housing Needs Assessment

We're excited to share the release of our 2026 Affordable Housing Needs Assessment—an analysis of nearly 15 years of housing trends in Flagstaff.

The report examines how Flagstaff's rental and home purchase markets have changed over time, including how many households are currently housing cost burdened, what different household sizes and occupations can realistically afford to rent or buy, and how our local housing costs and overall cost of living compare to national averages. The findings are striking.

As one of our valued subscribers, you're among the first to access this important community resource. We invite you to explore the data, better understand the challenges facing our region, and join the conversation about creating housing solutions for northern Arizona.

HOUSING SOLUTIONS' JULY IMPACT

TRANSITIONAL HOUSING

JoJo's Place

Last month, two households experiencing homelessness moved into furnished studio apartments at JoJo's Place, taking an important step toward stability and a place to call home.

Throughout June, the JoJo's Place team also strengthened partnerships with new funding sources and community agencies to expand eviction prevention resources for residents. Through these newly developed collaborations, we secured critical financial assistance that enabled two income-vulnerable households to safely remain in their homes and avoid homelessness.

Sharon Manor

Last month, one household experiencing homelessness and surviving domestic violence moved into safe, supportive transitional housing at Sharon Manor with access to case management, as well as child and adult groups.

The Sharon Manor team also hosted its annual end-of-school-year BBQ for residents, bringing families and neighbors together to celebrate the start of summer, build community, and create opportunities for connection and fun.

LOW-INCOME RENTALS

Flagstaff Rentals

Last month, 26 low-income Flagstaff families—including 37 adults and 14 children—remained stably and affordably housed through Housing Solutions' house and condo rental program. These permanently affordable homes provide safety, security, and the foundation for long-term housing stability for local households.

Did you know? Housing Solutions accepts Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers in our rentals. Currently, 42% of these 26 households utilize a voucher to help with their monthly rental payment.

Oak Wash Homes

At Oak Wash Homes in Cottonwood, 30 formerly homeless households are paying affordable rent and building more stable lives.

Did you know? Monthly rent at Oak Wash Homes is based on each household's income, helping ensure housing remains affordable and sustainable. The average monthly rent (including all utilities) for current residents is just $510.

Safe, affordable housing provides a foundation for improved health, greater independence, and new opportunities for the future.

WORKFORCE HOUSING

Western Hills Apartments

We are actively leasing the final 8 of 29 new workforce-attainable rentals at Western Hills Apartments! These rentals are designed to help Flagstaff’s middle-income workforce—teachers, healthcare workers, service industry employees, and tradespeople—find housing they can afford in the community they serve. View current rental opportunities below.

HOMEOWNERSHIP ASSISTANCE

First Time Homebuyers

In June, six first-time homebuyers in northern Arizona achieved homeownership with the help of down payment assistance administered through Housing Solutions' pre-purchase program.

The average amount of assistance provided was $66,250 per household, helping make homeownership attainable for these families and individuals.

Safe, stable, affordable housing provides a foundation for health, financial security, and thriving communities, and we're honored to help make that possible.

Your generosity, partnership, and commitment to our mission helped create an afternoon filled with good food, meaningful conversations, and community. Thank you for helping make this special gathering possible!
