April 23, 2019
Greetings!

I love it when I open last week's newsletter to make the changes for this week and the first thing I see is a glaring typo. It does wonders for my self esteem.

Anyway, let's move on.

I love Easter. It is one of my favorite holidays--it has everything! Church. Candy. Turkey. And an outdoor activity which involves (if done properly) tripping and otherwise disabling your siblings to find more plastic candy filled Easter eggs than anyone else. What a child won't do for a couple extra jelly beans. But my favorite thing about Easter is, of course, the Turkey. And if anyone know me they would know that I have been eating vegan for about three months-- this brings us to confession time. I cheated on my vegan diet in the worst possible way. I ate a whopper. A WHOPPER! It went right through me. Barely made it to the bathroom and so the lesson here is what? If you are going to eat really healthy and then go off the wagon don't go off the wagon at Burger King. Go off the wagon on Easter Sunday with turkey. Way better. I loooooove turkey. Although-- I have been known to cook ham on many an Easter Sunday but the point of that is usually the pea soup that comes with the leftover ham. I'd have to say that I just about like split pea soup better than turkey.

And so, whether it's tripping your sister, or locking your brother in the bathroom -- whether it's ham or turkey -- whether it's church or a run in the beautiful outdoors -- wherever your Easter traditions take you I hope you had a wonderful day with lots of family and lots of love.

Why Don't You Write My Eulogy Now So I Can Correct it?
Patricia Marx and
Roz Chast
$20
Signed Copies

The perfect Mother's Day gift: A collection of witty one-line advice New Yorker writer Patricia Marx heard from her mother, accompanied by full-color illustrations by New Yorker staff cartoonist Roz Chast.
Every mother knows best, but New Yorker writer Patty Marx's knows better. Patty has never been able to shake her mother's one-line witticisms from her brain, so she's collected them into a book, accompanied by full color illustrations by New Yorker staff cartoonist Roz Chast. These snappy maternal cautions include:
If you feel guilty about throwing away leftovers, put them in the back of your refrigerator for five days and then throw them out.
If you run out of food at your dinner party, the world will end.
When traveling, call the hotel from the airport to say there aren't enough towels in your room and, by the way, you'd like a room with a better view.
Why don't you write my eulogy now so I can correct it?
Every child will want to buy this for mom on Mother's Day!
