Dear Friends of Camp Lebanon,
The Board of Directors of Camp Lebanon is thrilled to announce the appointment of GREG STANDAFER as our next Executive Director. Greg has graciously accepted the position, and we are confident that under his leadership, Camp Lebanon will continue to flourish in its mission to help guests, young and old, experience the delight of being loved by God.
Many of you already know Greg as he has been an integral part of our Camp community for many years. Greg and his wife, Jill, have long-standing connections to Camp Lebanon. Jill first attended as a child, and both she and Greg served on staff during the 1990s. Most recently, Greg has served as Camp’s Director of Operations. With over 20 years of pastoral ministry experience—including four years as Associate Pastor at Oak Grove Church in Golden Valley, MN, and more than seven years as Senior Pastor at First Baptist Church in Whitehall, WI—Greg brings a conservative theological foundation and a strong passion for sharing God’s Word in advancing Camp’s vision.
In addition to his ministry experience, Greg also has a background in financial management, which will be a tremendous asset as we work to broaden our base of support. He is especially eager to connect with younger individuals and families, fostering a deep commitment to Christ that translates into a strong relationship with the local church and a lifetime of generosity toward Camp Lebanon and other ministries.
Greg’s tenure as Director of Operations has equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of Camp’s inner workings, both operationally and ministerially. His time working closely with our current Executive Director, Bill Abeler, has provided him with invaluable insights into how a camp of our size can maximize its impact for God’s Kingdom. Bill’s 38 years of faithful leadership have been nothing short of extraordinary. We are forever grateful to both Bill and Lisa for their dedication to serving our Lord and the countless guests who have encountered God’s presence at Camp Lebanon - truly a “Meeting Place with God.”
We look forward to sharing more about Greg in the coming weeks through our website. Greg will officially step into his new role as Executive Director on December 1, 2024. Bill and Lisa will continue to serve through the end of December, with their official retirement date set for December 31, 2024.
Please pray for this transition of leadership as there are many pieces that need to come together. We are all confident that God will continue to lead and use His Camp in mighty ways for many, many years. May God continue to shower His blessings on Camp Lebanon.
