Farmers Market/SNAP Update

You may have heard recently of the threat to SNAP benefit use at farmers markets across the country. Thanks to the diligence of the Farmers Market Federation of New York and intervention by the Governor's office, SNAP benefits will continue to be accepted at farmers markets across New York State all season. Learn more about the challenge and resolution here . GardenShare continues its partnership with Double Up Food Bucks to double SNAP purchases at farmers markets!

Area farmers markets continue:
  • The Canton Market is open every Tuesday and Friday from 9am-2pm at the Village Park until October 30.
  • The Potsdam Market is open every Saturday from 9am-2pm in Ives Park until October 27.
  • The Gouverneur Market is open every Thursday from 9am-2pm in the Village Park until October 25.
  • The Hammond Market will be open every Wednesday from 3pm-6pm at the Hammond Museum until September 19.
  • The Massena Market isopen Thursdays from 2pm-6pm and Sundays from 10am-2pm at a NEW LOCATION - Tractor Supply (105 Harte Haven Plaza) - until October 14.
Family Fun at the Markets
Throughout July, GardenShare hosted Family Fun Days to celebrate local farmers markets.Thank you to our sponsors, and to you all for your support! A special thank you to Claire Bartlett, our SLU PIC summer intern, for all of her hard work to make these events possible! GardenShare Seeks Executive Director
We are looking for an Executive Director to lead all aspects of our operations, including program development and administration; fundraising, grant seeking, and donor development; financial management; and staff hiring and supervision.
