SUBJ: Executive Order on Local Government Public Meetings Extended
DATE: May 11, 2020
On May 8, Governor DeSantis issued
Executive Order 20-114
, which extends
Executive Order 20-52
for 60 days (or to July 7).
Executive Order 20-69
on local government public meetings provides that it shall expire upon the expiration of EO 20-52, including any extensions. Therefore, since EO 20-114 extends EO 20-52 for 60 days, EO 20-69 (executive order relating to local government public meetings) is also extended for 60 days (or to July 7). Thus, unless the Governor issues some other conflicting order, the statutory requirements to have an in person quorum or to meet at a specified public place are suspended, and local government bodies can continue to hold meetings using communications media technology through July 7.
