DECEMBER 2020
EXECUTIVE MATCH SPOTLIGHT
In November 2020, Jackson State University referred a local community startup company, EasyKale®. EasyKale® was matched with Joe Wyse to help navigate the future commercialization pathway with Bilal Qizilbash, founder, and Rich Sun, chief operations officer.

EasyKale® was a result of Bilal Qizilbash's research (B.S. in biology, M.S. in medical sciences) into kale's cancer-fighting properties. What he found was that, in a controlled laboratory setting, juiced kale would attack and kill melanoma cells while not affecting non-cancerous cells. The discovery led him to patent the process and brainstorm possible products for getting more kale into people's diets. While there's a lot more research and study to be done on the cancer-fighting properties of kale, the health benefits are widely recognized. The EasyKale® Kale Shaker is the first in a series of products that EasyKale Labs LLC intends to bring to market to make the "super food" kale more accessible and easier to consume.
“Thanks to the wonderful XOR Program, we have been exposed to industry experts we otherwise would have never been able to gain access to. We also made some new friends.”
-Bilal Qizilbash
“XOR provided a great opportunity to connect with Bilal and EasyKale®, a potential partner I would not have met otherwise. I appreciate their matching my skills with areas that fit with EasyKale®'s development plans.”
-Joe Wyse
ANNOUNCEMENT:
SEEKING TALENT FOR AN EARLY STAGE COMPANY
Position Description: An XOR University Startup, pre-clinical stage, is seeking an individual to support business development activities including, but not limited to, fundraising and establishing strategic partnerships. The biotechnology company is focused on developing platelet-inspired therapies for the treatment of bleeding and other blood-related pathologies. The startup’s lead program is a platelet-inspired synthetic hemostatic technology that can staunch bleeding by amplifying the body’s natural clotting mechanisms.

Initially, the startup would like to identify an advisor to the company’s executive management team with the potential to transition to an executive management position. Leadership experience in fundraising, partnering, M&A, and managing a company during the critical pre-clinical to clinical stage of development is an advantage. Initial compensation will be equity; financial compensation may follow with transition to an executive management role. For additional information, or to schedule an appointment to learn more, please contact both XOR Administrator’s, Mariam Gorjian and Liz Knapp.
