Student Organization Highlight: Outsiders

Outsiders is a new outdoor club created by and for students of color at UC Berkeley. Noticing the lack of diversity and inclusion in outdoor activity spaces, this club was founded to break down barriers and enrich experiences for POC-identifying students who want to spend more time in nature.

Members can join coordinated trips exploring hiking, backpacking, climbing, kayaking, paddleboarding and more while connecting with others who share their passion for the outdoors.

Calling all Video Makers to the Mascot Challenge!

UC Berkeley is participating in the Exercise is Medicine On Campus (EIM-OC) Mascot Challenge, and we're looking for students to help create a video showcasing the importance of physical activity. The goal is to create a 90-second or less video showcasing our campus mascot, iconic figures, or EIM-OC leadership team promoting physical activity. The 2025 theme is “Exercise makes the world go round”.

If you're interested in being part of this project, please reach out to eim-oc@berkeley.edu. The challenge is open until October 27th. You can learn more about the details here. This is a great opportunity to represent UC Berkeley and have fun while promoting physical activity!
