TECHSiL Quarterly Newsletter

September 2025

MESSAGE FROM OUR MANAGING DIRECTOR

Welcome to our Autumn Newsletter & thank you for taking the time and trouble to read my musings.

It’s been a very busy few weeks as we’ve taken on more warehouse capacity and integrated Viking Tapes into TECHSiL. It’s been tough implementing a new ERP and I am delighted with how well it has gone. Also, I’m excited by some of the new customers our sales team are talking to, and it is always nice to speak with familiar household brand names.

The latest UK PMI still makes grim reading at 47.0 index (below 50 = pessimism). Global uncertainty, tariffs and the potential for negative government policy decisions could further hurt the manufacturing sector. Jobs cuts have been reported for 10 successive months which means the upcoming Budget will be very important to try to re-build business confidence in the UK.

We’re doing more and more exhibitions and getting a great response. At the Paris Airshow I was asked by another MD what makes TECHSiL great. I would say the People. We’re real People, you can see some of them below, and we’ve had 2 big charity fund raisers this summer. Then the Top Three things are technical support - we’re your adhesive experts; product customisation – custom labelling, repacking and tape slitting; and brilliant OTIF performance – first quality and on time delivery with real people answering those customer service emails and calls. I am so proud to work with this group of people.

I recently congratulated Kevin Henry on his 40 years in adhesives and tapes as he retires and I explained to our younger colleagues that the adhesives and tapes industry is certainly an industry that is going to stick around for a long time.

I’m going to focus more on acquisitions for the next few months. I am still very interested in more UK acquisitions to help strengthen our offering. I have hares running in Europe and the USA as we try to build the Specialty Adhesive platform at Diploma Plc with a more international profile.

AlphaQuad were delighted with the listener response to my recent podcast where I discussed how TECHSiL has evolved especially in Marketing & e-commerce. If you still want to listen, your last chance is here.

Thank you for working with TECHSiL & Viking Tapes, we appreciate our customers and love to hear your feedback.

Very best,

 Chris

Kevin Henry Retires & TECHSiL Summer Party

Last month the TECHSiL team got together for their summer party and to celebrate Kevin Henry on his retirement.

After 15 years with our sister company Eurobond and 40 years in the tape and adhesive industry, he has built up incredibly strong and long lasting relationships with loyal customers and colleagues alike.

He will be missed and we will him all the best in his next chapter!

Welcome to the Team

We'd like to welcome Duncan Turner, Emily Cresswell, and David Tees to the TECHSiL team!

Emily is joining our ecommerce team with a strong customer service background in hospitality having excelled in her Sociology and Criminology A Levels.

Duncan joins our sales team as a Business Development Executive with a strong background in B2B sales in outbound telesales and account management.

We're looking forward to seeing their growth and contributions to the group.

Welcome to the TECHSiL Team!

A huge congratulations to both Chloe Hosie and Tiggy Stedman for completing health and safety qualifications.

Chloe is now a qualified Mental Health First Aider, and Tiggy completed her Level 3 First Aid at Work qualification.

We are incredibly proud of all our team who have taken the time to earn their qualifications, helping to create a safe and supportive workplace.

Well done Chloe and Tiggy!

On the 27th June Kyle Jennings from our warehouse team cut his hair for The Little Princess Trust. A charity which provides free of charge wigs to children who have lost their hair due to cancer treatments and other conditions.

Not only did Kyle donate his hair but he also managed to raise over £1000 for the charity, covering the wig creation costs.

We are incredibly proud of Kyle's efforts!

Inflatable 5K Run

On Saturday 26th July, the TECHSiL team took on an inflatable 5K in memory of our beloved colleague Phil McCluskey, who sadly passed away in 2024.

The event consisted of a 5K run with lots of inflatable obstacles dotted throughout and was organised to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation, a cause close to our hearts.

The team jumped, bounced, slid, and swung, through the 5K course, tackling slides, rope swings, tunnels and lots more inflatable obstacles. Despite the physical challenge, the team had a great day, keeping spirits high and uniting for a meaningful cause.

The TECHSiL Team managed to exceed their sponsorship goal of £1000 but the fundraising page is still open for anyone who would like to contribute! Find it here.
