Construction Update

Exit 16 DDI

DATE: Wednesday, December 31, 2025

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: In observance of the New Year holiday, crews are off-site as of 3 PM yesterday, Tuesday, December 30, 2025. Work will resume at 7 AM on Monday, January 5, 2026.

TRAFFIC IMPACT AND DURATION: From Monday, January 5, through Friday, January 9, between 7 AM and 3 PM, lane closures and lane shifts will be in place on Lower Mountain View Drive and Upper Mountain View Drive near their intersection with U.S. Routes 2/7 (U.S. 2/7). A lane closure and shift will also be in effect on the west side of U.S. 2/7 just south of Rathe Road.

Independent utility companies will periodically be on-site conducting utility work along U.S. 2/7 between the Winooski town line and Sunderland Woods Road under lane closures.

Motorists should expect significant delays when traveling through the work zone and along adjacent roadways. Please plan ahead, leaving plenty of additional time to get to and from your destination. Whenever possible, consider alternate routes or other forms of transportation such as carpooling, ridesharing, transit, biking, or walking. Drivers should slow down, use caution, and follow flaggers and road signs.

CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES: Crews will continue installing drainage infrastructure on Lower Mountain View Drive and will hammer ledge on Upper Mountain View Drive near their intersections with U.S. 2/7. Stormwater ditching work will also take place on the west side of U.S. 2/7 just south of Rathe Road, with the possibility of additional ledge hammering in this area.

Independent utility work will periodically take place along U.S. 2/7 between the Winooski town line and Sunderland Woods Road.

Crews pave along the base of the completed retaining wall located between The Lighthouse Restaurant parking lot and U.S. 2/7 in Colchester, VT.

LOCATION: U.S. Routes 2/7 in Colchester starting at the Winooski town line and continuing north for 1.05 miles to Sunderland Woods Road.
