DATE: Friday, February 3, 2023

TRAFFIC IMPACT AND DURATION:
Due to extreme winter temperatures, there will be no construction activities starting Thursday, February 2 at 5:00 p.m. with crews returning Monday, February 6 at 7:00 a.m.

Crews will be onsite between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Traffic impacts will be restricted to the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Lane width reductions along the I-89 southbound onramp will be in effect between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. next week to facilitate work behind the bridge pier on the east side of U.S. 2/7.
CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES:
Crews will continue removing materials including ledge from behind the bridge piers on both sides of interstate bridges over US 2/7 to facilitate the installation of retaining walls. Next week, work will be focused on the east side of U.S. 2/7. This work will include hammering to break up the ledge for removal and be completed under lane width reductions along the I-89 southbound onramp. Crews will begin the process of shoring (installing temporary structural reinforcement) to the excavated area to allow for the construction of the retaining walls.
