Construction Update
Exit 16 DDI
DATE: Friday, September 8, 2023
Monday, September 11, during the daytime hours, there is potential for a single lane closure of the outermost northbound lane of U.S. 2/7 in front of Burger King near South Park Drive to facilitate the relocation of independent utilities. A single lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction at all times.
Monday, September 11, through Friday, September 15, during the daytime hours, 6:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., the outermost southbound lane of U.S. 2/7 between South Park Drive and Mountain View Drive will be closed. Only a single travel lane will be closed in each direction during the daytime hours. Side street and interstate ramp access will be maintained throughout this work. Motorists are strongly encouraged to use caution while driving through the work zone and pay close attention to signage as traffic patterns will change. All users should expect delays and plan ahead.
Next week, during daytime hours, crews will continue to construct the western retaining wall that will run along the west side of U.S. 2/7 outside the I-89 bridge piers. Crews will continue installing curb and guardrail, and conducting shaping work along U.S. 2/7 between South Park Drive and Mountain View Drive.
LOCATION: U.S. Routes 2/7 (U.S. 2/7) in Colchester starting at the Winooski town line and continuing north for 1.05 miles to Sunderland Woods Road.
