Construction Update
Exit 16 DDI
DATE: Friday, August 11, 2023
Starting Friday, August 11, at 8 a.m. and continuing through 3:00 p.m., Champlain Water District will complete water tie-in work near Highpoint Center. This work will be completed under the closure of the outermost southbound lane along U.S. Route 2/7 (U.S. 2/7) near Highpoint Center. A temporary water service disruption will be in effect between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. Impacted property owners and tenants have been notified.
Sunday, August 13, through Thursday, August 17, during nighttime hours, 7:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m., U.S. 2/7 between South Park Drive and Mountain View Drive will be under northbound lane closures to facilitate duct bank installation. At least one travel lane will remain open in each direction during the nighttime hours. Side street access will be maintained throughout this work. Motorists are strongly encouraged to use caution while driving through the work zone and pay close attention to signage as traffic patterns will change.

Monday, August 14, through Friday, August 18, during the daytime hours, 6:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., work will continue along U.S. 2/7 throughout the project area under lane closures. Only a single travel lane will be closed in each direction during the daytime hours. Intermittent northbound lane closures along U.S. 2/7 between South Park Drive and Mountain View Drive will be in effect throughout the daytime hours to facilitate the paving of sections of roadway disturbed during overnight work. The outermost southbound lane along U.S. 2/7 between the Interstate 89 (I-89) ramps will be closed to facilitate the installation of the retaining wall along the west side of U.S. 2/7.

All users should expect delays and plan ahead.
Next week, during nighttime hours, crews will continue to install duct bank along U.S. 2/7 between South Park Drive and Mountain View Drive. Throughout the week, crews will continue installing duct bank starting just south of the Interstate 89 (I-89) southbound onramp and working south towards South Park Drive. This work will require lane closures along U.S. 2/7.
Next week, during daytime hours, crews will continue to pave sections of disturbed roadway along U.S. 2/7 and construct the western retaining wall that will run along the west side of U.S. 2/7 outside of the I-89 bridge piers under lane closures
