Exmoor National Park 70^th Anniversary

This year is the 70^th anniversary of Exmoor’s designation as a National Park

In the lead up to the official birthday of the National Park on #ExmoorDay Saturday 19 October and beyond, the National Park Authority will be celebrating all that is great about Exmoor with a range of events and activities and looking to its future with a special 70^th Anniversary Appeal for CareMoor for Exmoor.

We are ramping up celebrations, as we approach Exmoor Day on the 19th October. Do join in the big #Exmoor70 countdown and tag us in on your photos, events and videos using the same hashtag. Better still, join in with our 70 for 70 walk!

Exmoor Day

Exmoor Day is a day when we take a moment to celebrate all that Exmoor National Park offers to the world. We encourage everyone who loves Exmoor to celebrate this special place in their won way, in person or digitally. This year it’s an extra special one, as it marks Exmoor having officially been a National Park since 19 October 1954.

Great Bradley Bridge

A brand new bridge at Great Bradley will be officially opened on #ExmoorDay, Saturday 19 October. The Bridge is being built across the River Barle to provide a secure, sustainable route along the Two Moors Way between Tarr Steps and Withypool. It's made of a recycled steel structure, with locally sourced, sustainable timber deck and handrails

70 Special Sites for 70 years of Exmoor National Park

Dr Lucy Shipley highlights 70 of Exmoor’s special sites in a brilliant new blog series that helps to tell its story, from the Mesolithic Era to World War II.
