Dear Friends,

At The Washington Home, we believe every older adult deserves dignity, comfort, and compassionate care. That commitment is at the heart of our newly announced Hospice Access Collaboration, a $328K investment bringing together four community partners to expand hospice-related training for 200 healthcare professionals and support specialty hospice care for 25 older DC residents.

Community leaders Capital Caring Health - A Chapters Health® Affiliate, Forest Hills of DC – By Goodwin Living, Joseph’s House, and Sibley Memorial Hospital – Johns Hopkins Medicine, will use the TWH grant to close gaps in care and build a stronger, more compassionate support system in our city.

This initiative continues to reflect our FY26 grant-making strategy: moving beyond individual programs to foster collaboration and lasting systems change. This year, The Washington Home awarded $4.5 million in grants supporting communities across all eight DC wards.

Thank you for sharing our commitment to improving the lives of older adults. Together, we can help ensure more people receive the care, comfort, and connection they deserve.
