Did You Know?

The best way to build your business is to connect with other people.

The Chamber encourages you to connect with individuals and conduct one on ones. This is not an opportunity to sell. This is a time to get to know one another and identify ways you can help each other.

Template for a 60-minute One-On-One:
  1. 20 minutes about you (Your family, hobbies, and business background)
  2. 20 minutes about them (Their family, hobbies, and business background)
  3. 20 minutes about how you can collaborate (Share names of potential clients, brainstorm marketing ideas, etc.)
Consider meeting for coffee or lunch. Follow this formula for business success.

From the President
Immediately following tomorrow's luncheon, the board chair, Carol Longacre, and I will head to the airport to depart for the DC Fly In in Washington, D.C. The trip, which takes place every other year, is a unique opportunity for the Chamber to engage with our elected officials and tell them what is important to the business community.

In 2014, we had the opportunity to meet with U.S. Representative Paul Ryan and former Speaker of the House, John Boehner. We were privileged to have candid conversations about the state of affairs at the national level. We also met with Senators Ted Cruz and John Cornyn. Special thanks to Congressman Michael Burgess for leading the effort to secure these meetings.

I look forward to meeting with our elected officials and other government entities this year to share the successes and needs of our business community. I encourage each of you to become more active by participating in our government affairs meetings every other month. Our next meeting is Thursday, May 12 at 1:00 p.m. at the Chamber Office.
