Sept. 13 event spotlights expanding region's workforce potential through STEM-based education, collaboration
Join K-State Olathe from 5-7 p.m. on Sept. 13 for a free event that brings together industry and community leaders, employers, employees, educators and students in greater Kansas City to discuss fulfilling Kansas City's demand for professionals in the STEM fields.
"Expanding Potential in Greater Kansas City: An Introduction to the Professional Science Master's Degree" will highlight how K-State Olathe's newest degree -- the Professional Science Master in Applied Science and Technology -- is helping meet the region's demand for well-qualified STEM professionals and giving individuals the skills needed to take the next step in their careers.
The evening begins at 5 p.m. with an information fair, appetizers and refreshments. At 6 p.m. a moderated panel will discuss developing a STEM-based workforce for greater Kansas City's continued growth and success. Networking with industry leaders will follow. Information for prospective students will be available.
Prospective graduate students considering a K-State Olathe program will receive a graduate school application fee waiver.
