Centered around the theme “Clubhouse Rocks,” the conference featured a series of engaging workshops and plenary sessions focused on core Clubhouse principles, including employment, the Work-Ordered Day, and the power of meaningful relationships.
Special guest, St. George Mayor, Michele Randall, shared her personal experiences with mental health challenges and expressed heartfelt appreciation for the critical role Clubhouse programs play in supporting recovery and inclusion within the community.
| | | | Growing Visibility of the Clubhouse Approach to Recovery | |
Joel Corcoran, Clubhouse International's Executive Director and CEO, joined Seth Kahan's podcast "Grand Challenges" to talk about the power and impact of the Clubhouse movement.
"Joel shares how a grassroots group in 1940s New York City became a worldwide movement of Clubhouses; inclusive, member-driven spaces where recovery isn’t just possible, it’s thriving. These aren’t clinical programs; they’re dynamic, intentional communities where people with serious mental illness find purpose, opportunity, and belonging."
The Clubhouse Model empowers people to move from isolation to contribution and the ripple effect reaches far beyond the Clubhouse walls." Check out the podcast HERE.
| Introducing Clubhouse International's 2024 Annual Report | |
We’re pleased to share our 2024 Annual Report, celebrating 30 years of advancing our mission to end social and economic isolation for people living with mental illness.
2024 marked incredible milestones:
● 370+ Clubhouses in 33 countries
● A record 30 new Clubhouses opened
● Continued growth in Accreditation, training, & advocacy
From participating in global mental health summits to rescheduling our World Seminar after a hurricane, 2024 was a year of resilience and momentum. We're especially excited to launch our bold initiative to triple the number of Clubhouses in the next decade.
These achievements are possible in large part due to the dedication of all of you - the Clubhouse International network.
| | Advancing the Clubhouse Model in Singapore, Taiwan & Beyond | | |
We have exciting developments to share around Clubhouse growth in Asia.
From July 7–11, two staff from Taiwha Fountain House (a Clubhouse International Training Center) completed a Clubhouse training at Anglican Care Centre in Singapore (pictured here). While the center integrates Clubhouse values, it is not yet a fully established Clubhouse. The training deepened both staff and member understanding and sparked strong interest in developing a true Clubhouse in Singapore. Taiwha plans to continue supporting this effort through follow-up visits, leadership engagement, and potential collaboration with a Clubhouse movement supporter, Eureka Foundation.
Looking ahead, Taiwha Fountain House staff and members will attend a Clubhouse seminar in Taiwan this October to connect with local programs and explore future training opportunities, and they have expressed interest in joining the Clubhouse Faculty. Habataki Clubhouse in Japan also plans to participate in Comprehensive Clubhouse training this year.
| | First-time Accreditation Shows Strong Clubhouse | | |
Vail Ramsey County (RamCo) Clubhouse, in St. Paul Minnesota, USA recently underwent its first-ever Accreditation!
RamCo worked tirelessly to show off their first year Clubhouse to the visiting Faculty team: Peace Cambria of New Reflections Clubhouse in Tooele, Utah, USA and David Plotka of Venture House in New York City, USA.
Reflections from the Faculty team: "After three very tiring but (hopefully for them) satisfying days of showcasing their Clubhouse, Peace and David delivered a thorough Preliminary Findings Report which highlighted notable strengths and areas for further growth and development. It should be noted that RamCo was initially preparing for an Accreditation visit in 2026, but a change in the schedule moved them up in the queue. How’s that for Clubhouse 'can-do spirit!?' "
RamCo is one of three Clubhouses operated by Vail Communities all committed to Clubhouse International Accreditation.
| | 4 Comprehensive Trainings Help Strengthen Clubhouses Worldwide | | |
This month, four Clubhouse International Training Centers in the USA hosted Comprehensive Clubhouse trainings: Fountain House, Genesis Club, Alliance House, and Gateway.
These sessions bring together staff, members, and administrators from Clubhouses worldwide to deepen their understanding of the Clubhouse Model and develop a strategic action plan for further growth.
As part of the curriculum, Clubhouse International participates in Discussion 10 - the final training session - where we explore the role and function of Clubhouse International itself. This discussion highlights how member Clubhouses have an active role and voice in shaping the work and direction of the broader Clubhouse community.
We are grateful to the Training Centers for their continued commitment to providing high-quality training and for everyone’s dedication to improving Clubhouse opportunities around the world.
"Comprehensive training is very impactful- I am from the auspice agency, and will return to advocate that we take the opportunity each year we attend a training to involve other administrators from the agency, to better understand how to support the unique needs of the Clubhouse!" ~Training participant

“Getting back into the workforce was very difficult. I applied for a job at Meijer (a grocery store) and did not get the job. A few months after, I started attending Club Cadillac. They inspired me to never give up if you want something.
I re-applied for the job one year later, and was hired on the spot. I want to see how far I can grow with the company because I enjoy it so much. It gives me a lot of pride to be in the workforce. I know Club Cadillac is always here for me and they make me feel so good about my accomplishments."
