Dear brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus, part of the growing repentance remnant, members of His flock, of which Jesus is the Shepherd (John 10:16), Jesus being the first to preach His gift of repentance (Matthew 4:17), now calling on each of us also to preach repentance (Luke 24:47).
Years ago in 2011 when two other pastors and I started this repentance ministry the vision was to to have some USA leaders in government or the church call for a national day of repentance, as had our forefathers.
That's now happening; we've had several zoom calls this year, another will take place tomorrow, God willing. And then on October 31 at thel Mall in DC there will be a call for national repentance by the Nehemiah Alliance.
God's Solution in 2 Chronicles 7: 13,14 is now being seen elsewhere, given the repentance prayers success, for example, in Corpus Christi Texas where the earlier drought has now been replaced by the Lord with reservoirs filled.
Australia has now had two national days of repentance this year; another is planned for October 31. South Africa may have one on November 2.
So it's time to expand the Vision. Here's the new Vision; I welcome your comments. And please join us for the zoom tomorrow!
Vision of Global Days of Repentance
The Lord, announcing that He had all authority in heaven and on earth, then commanded His disciples to make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:18-19). This matches His command in Luke 24:46,47: " Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning in Jerusalem."
Repentance was Jesus' first word of the Gospel: "Repent, the kingdom of heaven is at hand." (Matthew 4:17). Here in Luke 24, the Risen Christ again just before His Ascension stresses the preaching of repentance.
Repentance was preached at Pentecost (Acts 2:38, Acts 3:19), but with few exceptions these commands to preach repentance and to make disciples are not being obeyed in His "flock." (John 10:16), the Body of Christ in all nations. Man's thinking, religious traditions, and division have watered down or effectively nullified the Lord's command to make disciples, staritng with repentance.
Repentance is a turning to God with a deep brokenness, a free will decision, changing the mind and then the heart, in turn leading to a change of purpose and action, then seen by others. It is His gift to enter His Kingdom and then His gift to have us cleansed from our old sins patterns.
The Lord is not slack concerning His promises, as some count slackness, but is long-suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9). God commands all men everywhere to repent because He has appiointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man that He has ordained. (Acts 17: 30,31).
Jesus said: "unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven" (Matthew 18:3,4).
To sanctify us, to make us holy as He is holy (1 Peter 1:15), the Lord has already formed a "Bride."(Ephesians 5:25-27). " Husbands, love your wives just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. "
The Bride is to get herself ready for the marriage supper of the Lamb. She will be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, the righteous acts of the saints (Revelation 19:6-9). He is the soon-coming Bridegroom.
By failing to prepare disciples through repentance, the Bride has not been fully developed by shepherds in His church. The time has come for judgment to begin in the house of God. ( 1 Peter 4:17).
The Vision of National Day of Repentance is two-fold. We encourage pastors to make disciples by preaching God's gift of repentance, preaching repentance to enter Jesus' Kingdom and then repentance to cleanse from old sin patterns. National Day of Repentance also encourages pastors to hold in their nation days of prayer, fasting and repentance to heal their land, following God's Word in 2 Chronicles 7:13,14.
The Lord Himself is allowing today drought, locusts, and pestilence-- including moral pestilence-among His people in all nations so that we will return to Him: " When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people, if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin and heal their land. " (2 Chronicles 7:13,14).
This Word from the Lord is alive today. A major drought in Corpus Christi, Texas was healed by several days of repentance. Reservoirs are now nearly full. Now other nations, in Australia and Oceania, are holding national days of repentance. The new Vision of National Day of Repentance is for all 200+ nations on His Planet to hold days of repentance.
National days of repentance allow participants to experience the joy and freedom which follows the removal of old sin strongholds through the confession of sins and repentance. We come closer to Jesus as we turn away from our personal and national sins, returning to His Way.
Daniel and Nehemiah confessed not only their own sins but the sins also of their families and their nations. Joining together through the Holy Spirit, across national boundaries, confessing our personal and national sins, and individually repenting on a given day along with other believers, a type of modern day sacred assembly is effected, pleasing to the Lord. If we rend out hearts, not our garments, and return to the Lord our God, He may relent from doing harm, and leave a blessing, given that He is slow to anger and of great kindness. (Joel 2:13,14).
In God's Timing and as we obey His call to repent, " All the ends of the world shall remember and turn to the LORD. And all the families of the nations shall worship before You. For the kingdom is the Lord's and He rules over the nations." (Psalm 22:27,28).
Because He loves us so, the Risen Christ calls us to be zealous to repent, replacing old filters of His Truth, old sin patterns, with His Word. He wants us to be overcomers, to sit with Him on His throne as He overcame and sat with His Abba Father on His throne. (Revelation 3: 19-22).
We believers in Jesus Christ all over the globe are seen by Him already as His chosen generation, a Royal Priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people (1 Peter 2: 9). When we believers in Jesus Christ pray and ask in His Name, He will do it, and we can do even greater works that He did, that the Father may be glorified in the Son ( John 14: 12-14).
In the confession of sins/repentance process the Bride is strengthened, and we come closer to being of one mind, one accord, having compassion and love for one another, experiencing being called for this blessing !( 1 Peter 3:8,9). After each national/global day of repentance our lamps will be trimmed, filled with more oil, and we will be more qualified to join the Bridegroom for the wedding (Matthew 25:1-13).
May we like John the Baptist become friends of the Bridegroom, standing for and hearing Him, full of joy! (John 3:29).
We invite you to join us !
