Based in San Francisco, CA, Expanse Medical sought to establish a facility in Providence to serve as an innovation hub and launchpad for medical device ventures, bringing together engineering talent, clinicians, and investors while contributing to Rhode Island’s growing life sciences community.

Our team was selected to furnish the space, thoughtfully incorporating the company’s corporate colors throughout the design. In the laboratory, we installed functional workbenches, task stools, shelving, and cabinetry to support the team’s research and development activities.

In the conference room, we specified a light, open-base conference table with integrated power to maintain an airy feel while maximizing functionality. The accompanying chairs incorporate the company’s colors and feature flip-up arms to provide additional flexibility and space when needed. Both the private offices and open work areas were furnished with height-adjustable desks and mobile pedestals to promote comfort and adaptability. The open office workstations include under-table power, allowing them to be positioned centrally within the space. To provide privacy while maintaining an open environment, we incorporated 12-inch-high fabric privacy screens between workstations.

For the reception area, the goal was to create a welcoming, vibrant first impression. We selected furniture that reflects the company’s color palette and added acoustic hanging baffles to define a comfortable, semi-private seating area for visitors.

We are proud to have played a role in bringing this innovative workspace to life and supporting Expanse Medical’s expansion in Providence, RI.
