Inside|Out 2021 | Community Partnership Connection

The Detroit Institute of Arts' Inside|Out returns for its twelfth year! This popular program brings high-quality reproductions from the DIA’s collection to outdoor venues throughout metro Detroit. The reproductions will be on view in 24 communities from May through October. Learn more >
Call for Filmmakers Extended | School Field Trip from Home

The Teen Arts Council Film Festival is a virtual event hosted by the DIA Teen Arts Council and they have extended the deadline for submissions to be featured in the showcase! Filmmakers ages 13 - 20 are invited to share short films of their creation by February 19. Ten artists will be selected to participate at our Teen Arts Council Film Fest on March 13, 2021.  Learn more >
Mandabi (The Money Order) | DFT @ Home

DFT @ Home is a virtual screening room that presents Detroit Film Theatre selections at your convenience and helps benefit the DFT. New this week is Mandabi, a richly ironic depiction of a society scarred by colonialism and plagued by bureaucracy, corruption and poverty. The remarkable1968 film was adapted from his own novella by legendary Senegalese writer-director Ousmane Sembène and was the first movie ever made in the Wolof language. Learn more >

This week Thursdays at the Museum is offering its second virtual concert experience. See Protea Trio live from the Crystal Gallery. The Detroit Metro Times listed them as "a new trio of top-drawer local musicians" and indeed, their musical energy on stage is electric and energetic. Learn more >
