JEANERETTE, La. -- The Jeanerette Museum will host The Art of Nature photography exhibit from May 3 - 26, 2017. This exhibit features the work of award winning photographer John Flores and was developed by the Friends of Bayou Teche National Wildlife Refuge.
Exhibit: The "Art of Nature" exhibit designed by the Friends of the Bayou Teche National Wildlife Refuge for St. Mary Parish is traveling throughout St. Mary and Jeanerette. This exhibit features Flores' work as he captured the colors and beauty of nature in the area.
Lecture: Photographer John Flores will give a lecture entitled, "Our Local Playground," at 6 p.m. on May 3, 2017 at the Jeanerette Museum at the opening of the "Art of Nature" photography exhibit. He will discuss the subjects of the exhibit and places in Louisiana that present the best opportunities for wildlife viewing. A meet and greet will follow the talk.
About John Flores: Flores is an award winning outdoor/travel writer and photographer and is the outdoor writer for the Morgan City Daily Review, Franklin Banner-Tribune and StMaryNow.com. His freelance work includes credits with numerous local and national publications. Some of Flores' photography work is exhibited in the Cajun Coast Visitors Center as well as on Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries educational brochures. Flores is a University of Southwestern Louisiana graduate with a Bachelors degree in General Studies. He is a member of the Southeastern Outdoor Press Association and the Louisiana Outdoor Writers Association.
The exhibit opening and lecture is open to the public free of charge. Seating may be limited and taken on a first come, first serve basis. The Jeanerette Museum is located at 500 E. Main St. in Jeanerette.
