There is always something exciting about a new year: dreams, goals, new intentions and routines, a new calendar (love that clean slate!), opportunities for growth and so much more. I have experienced most of this as the interim Children’s Director these past few weeks and it has been so much fun working at our great church. I have loved getting to know our children and families on a deeper level and look forward to the ways in which we will experience the love of Christ together.

It's hard to believe we are halfway through January! This week we started our Large Group gathering again. We are very excited to be able to have all the kids gather together - in safe and distanced way! - to sing, laugh, play and learn. We are also very happy to have Hillary Cardenas back as our worship leader.

I have two big announcements to share! First, starting in February, we will not have Kid’s Worship on the first Sunday of the month. Instead, we invite our First Families to worship together! We are excited to have a children’s moment included in the service as well as activity folders for the children so they can color, create and follow along with the sermon. This also gives our volunteers an opportunity to worship with their families. The nursery will remain open for children under age four. We hope to see everyone in worship together on February 7!

Second, save the date for Friday, January 29th - we will have a Virtual Game Night for our church families. Expect a scavenger hunt, bingo, sweet treats and maybe some prizes! We hope this will be a fun and safe way for your children to feel connected and bridge what we’ve been learning in Kid’s Worship. You are able to register for the event here: www.FMConroe.org/GameNight.

Thank you for your prayers and support over the past month. They have been such a blessing in my life!

Peace,

Jean Irving
