Trauma-Informed Care and the Pyramid Model for Promoting Social and Emotional Competence in Infants and Young Children
Early educators are becoming increasingly aware of the importance of understanding the impact of trauma on young children and their families and offering trauma-informed care. Children’s responses to trauma can include a child’s difficulty in relationships and social interactions with peers and adults, challenges in emotional regulation and social skill development, and challenging behavior. Supporting the Emotional Needs of Kids With Learning Disabilities
It is common for kids who have a learning disability (LD) to feel frustrated, sad, anxious or embarrassed. If you see signs that your child is struggling, try to understand what specifically is troubling them. Sometimes kids are upset because they think they are “dumb.” Learn more about how to support the emotional needs of kids with disabilities.

The Education Advocate training is for Kansas foster parents, adoptive parents, community volunteers and others who wish to help a child who does not have an available parent to act on their behalf for special education decisions. 
SHIFT Transition to Adulthood (in-person)

Learn about transition services in the IEP, Vocational Rehabilitation Services (VR), Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS), Centers for Independent Living, and HCBS Medicaid Waivers. Hear stories of people with disabilities living their good lives.


Family Employment Awareness Training (FEAT)

Families, transition age youth (14-21), & professionals
Learn about services, programs, and supports available to support gaining and maintaining employment for youth/young adults who have disabilities. We will share strategies for using person-centered planning to individualize transition services in the IEP and employment outcomes.
