Tanglewood Music Festival Boston Symphony Orchestra at Tanglewood:

Andris Nelsons conducts Tosca (July 19, 8pm), Tanglewood Family Concert: Family Matters (July 20, 10:30am), Boston Pops: One Night Only: An evening with Sutton Foster & Kelli O'Hara Enjoy a night with Kelli O’Hara and Sutton Foster inspired by the 1962 CBS special “Julie and Carol at Carnegie Hall”— a tribute to The Great White Way and beyond. Together with Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops, Sutton and Kelli pay homage to icons of stage and screen Julie Andrews and Carol Burnett who teamed up for that memorable concert. You’ll hear favorites from Sutton and Kelli’s Tony Award winning and nominated shows and in between, lots of bubbly banter, laughter and stories you’ll love. (July 18, 8pm). Chesterwood Creating W.E.B Du Bois with Sculptor Richard Blake, This is a free, community event hosted and moderated by the founders of the W.E.B. Du Bois Sculpture Project, Lauren Clark and Julie Michaels, we welcome acclaimed figurative sculptor Richard Blake to share his process in creating the monument of Du Bois for the town of Great Barrington, Du Bois’s hometown (July 18, 5-6pm). “W.E.B. Du Bois: Scholar, Artist, Architect of the Civil Rights Movement” will be a panel discussion with sculptor Richard Blake (Du Bois monument), Boston University scholar Dr. Chad Williams, artist and activist Delano Burrowes, MCLA professor Dr. Frances Jones Sneed, and Executive Director of the National Sculpture Society, Gwen Pier (July 20, 1-2pm). Nature Walk (July 21, 3pm), The talented Fellows from the famed Tanglewood Music Center return to the historic Studio with a String Quartet and Solo Marimba. The program will feature works by Gabriela Ortiz, Ellen Reid, and Gabrielle Smith. This is a free, community event. Seating is limited and reservations are requested. This free, community program is a partnership between Chesterwood and the Tanglewood Learning Institute (July 23, 5:30-6:30pm).

Norman Rockwell Museum Because of the incredible enthusiasm and support all three scheduled Walter Wick programing (Artist Talk: Walter Wick: Behind Every Picture, Artist Tour: I SPY! Berkshire Theatre Group There is still time to see Out of Character Hailed as a “riveting and deeply personal performance,” Out of Character is as funny as it is deeply affecting. Berkshire Botanical Garden Family Fridays: Terry A La Berry on Friday, July 18, from 11am to noon! A renowned drummer for folk legend Arlo Guthrie, Terry a la Berry brings his magical tunes to captivate young hearts and create lasting memories for your family. His interactive performances are filled with laughter, joy, and toe-tapping rhythms, making every show an immersive musical journey. Their annual fundraiser, 2025 Fete des Fleurs: A Midsummer Night's Dream takes place on July 19, 4-7pm. You can expect a truly enchanting evening, where you will be transported into Shakespeare’s play with captivating theatrical performances, interactive activities, and an atmosphere that immerses you in the magic of the season. Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center 100 Years of Movies: Vertigo (1958) (July 18, 7pm). In the Indigo Room, The Tanglewood Music Center presents the acclaimed Mexican percussion ensemble Tambuco, a for-time Grammy nominee. On Wednesday, July 23, at 8pm, Mahaiwe welcomes the extraordinary Rosanne Cash, a true luminary in the world of American roots music. With an impressive collection of 4 Grammy Awards and 14 nominations, her artistry has not only resonated with audiences but has also set a high standard in songwriting and sound recordings. Beyond her musical prowess, Cash is an accomplished author, with her memoir, Composed, earning critical acclaim and securing a spot on The New York Times bestseller list. As a catalyst for the music community, she has a unique ability to unite the giants of American roots music, enriching the cultural tapestry of our nation. In recognition of her remarkable contributions, Cash was awarded the MacDowell Medal in 2021, making her the first female composer to receive this distinguished honor. Her performance promises to be an inspiring celebration of music and creativity. Clark Art On Saturday, July 19 at 11am, the Clark Art Institute celebrates the opening of its newest sculpture exhibition, Ground/work 2025, with a lecture by exhibition curator Glenn Adamson exploring the theme of craft and its different cultural expressions. The talk also features recent photography highlighting the unique round-the-clock experience of appreciating the works of art across the Clark's grounds, and a question-and-answer session. This free event takes place in the Clark’s Manton Research Center auditorium. At 2 pm, the Clark presents a free walking tour of the outdoor sculpture exhibition. Each artist will be stationed beside their work to present a ten- to fifteen-minute talk with Adamson. There is a fifteen-minute window (with two exceptions) between each talk, providing time to walk between sites. Performing Arts: The Writing on the Wall, A Literary celebration continues (July 20, 3-4:30pm). Gallery Talk: Reflections (July 22, 11am-12pm). Jacob's Pillow Week 4 of the Festival continues (July 18-20) with world premiere of HERE in the Doris Duke Theatre, The Sarasota Ballet will perform (July 18-20), Red Clay Dance Company, an Afro-Contemporary company from Chicago known for their “Artivism” (July 18 at 5:30). Closing out the week of outdoor performances will be The School at Jacob’s Pillow Contemporary Performance Ensemble, featuring work by artist faculty and guest choreographers (July 19 at 5:30pm). Week Five of Summer Dance Festival (July 24-July 28): Jacob’s Pillow invites audiences of all ages to experience MOMIX—the dancer-illusionist company famous for their colorful and inventive touring spectacles. This marks the first appearance by MOMIX at Jacob’s Pillow since their debut in 2002. The company will perform in the Ted Shawn Theatre from Wednesday, July 24 through Sunday, July 28—including a special Thursday matinee, added to the performance schedule due to popular demand. The company’s performance of VIVA MOMIX, a collection of their most astonishing work, will showcase the company’s extraordinary use of optical illusions. On the outdoor Henry J. Leir Stage, Week 5 of the Festival will also include a one-night-only performance featuring USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance on Wednesday, July 24, as dancers present a wide range of iconic and innovative works by acclaimed choreographers such as George Balanchine, Dwight Rhoden, and Ohad Naharin. The Mount Edith Wharton's Home Walkin' with WordXWord Follow along as poets offer an exploration of The Mount’s grounds and selected works in the Sculpture at The Mount exhibition. Using a sculpture and the environment as prompts, poets offer new ways of “seeing” what is before us (July 20, 5-6pm).
