Explore the architecture and history of Downtown Santa Monica on our docent-led walking tour! Our tour covers about 6 blocks and begins at the city's first historic landmark – the 1875 Rapp Saloon, which was built as a beer hall and later served as City Hall, a piano tuning shop and an art gallery among other reincarnations.
You'll get a chance to see a historic theater that served as a welcome diversion during the Depression, the Victorian home of tennis champion Gussie Moran, the British pub where Jim Morrison played his first show, and much more! You'll also stop by the lavish Art Deco hotel that housed a Prohibition-era speakeasy frequented by Bugsy Siegel, Al Capone, Clark Gable, Carol Lombard and “Fatty” Arbuckle.
The tours are open to all ages and limited to 10 people. Reservations suggested and walk-ups welcome. Please bring a mask.
