This July we celebrate Palm Beach County’s 114-year anniversary. Since the county’s founding on July 1, 1909, my office has been collecting, storing and protecting Palm Beach County’s public records.
The first county government meetings were held in an old four-room schoolhouse in West Palm Beach where our first Clerk of Court Fred E. Fenno began collecting records. At the time, only about 5,300 people lived here. As of 2022, the U.S. Census Bureau estimates there are more than 1.5 million residents living in Palm Beach County.
Throughout our county’s history, the Clerk’s office has been hard at work making county records available to the public. By digitizing paper, microfilm and microfiche, we’ve made it easier than ever to explore thousands of documents from the comfort of your own home.
