As we near the end of the year, you, your family, and friends have a great number of spirit-filled events all over Delaware to enjoy!

In the northern reaches of our state, Winterthur, Longwood Gardens, The Grand, and a host of other great places offer experiences worth visiting. Events like the City of New Castle's Spirit of Christmas celebration and Siegel JCC Delaware's Chanukah Breakfast Bash are worth checking out. Visit the Greater Wilmington Visitors’ Bureau website for ideas.

In Kent County, consider doing a cookie and cocktail pairing class at Painted Stave Distilling, visit Harvest Ridge Winery's Christmas Village, or attending the City of Dover's Capital Holiday Celebration. Delaware’s Quaint Villages is a good place to check out options in the central part of the state. Here you will find places to go, things to see and experience, and find a great meal while day-tripping!

Farther south, check out Southern Delaware Tourism and their 'holiday happenings' list of events in Sussex County! And, how about Schellville?! Talk about cool! Congrats to our member Schell Brothers for cranking up the creative juices and standing up a holiday community experience!

In celebration of Delaware Day, we showcase the First State's finest culinary traditions. We are looking forward to bringing it back to the nation's capital!

News You Can Use

Several Fed Bank Presidents will be speaking this week, including Chairman Jerome Powell on Thursday at the Brookings Institution. On Tuesday, September results from the FHFA and the Case-Schiller index are out, while on Wednesday we’ll get the ADP employment report for November, Q3 GDP results, and October jobs data. Thursday brings us price index results from October, consumer spending and real personal income numbers from October, and manufacturing index data and motor vehicle sales from November. We wrap up a busy week on Friday with November unemployment figures.

This is a relatively quiet week for corporate earnings calls. Hewlett Packard and Intuit are on the schedule for Tuesday, while Five Below, Salesforce, Hormel Foods, and Victoria’s Secret are scheduled for Wednesday. ChargePoint, Weber, Dollar General, Ulta Beauty, Big Lots, and Kroeger are among the others that host calls later this week.

In our first season we delighted our Coastal Delaware community with 9 miniature houses decorated beautifully with plenty of activities, and Christmas trees. Since then, Schellville has grown as we have added train rides, snow zones, additional houses and plenty of fun to delight our local families! In 2021, Schell Brothers brought their magical Christmas village dreams to life. Welcoming more than 104,000 guests, serving more than 12,000 cups of hot cocoa, and raising more than $84,000 to help end childhood hunger, Schellville was much more than a village behind Tanger Outlets it was a Christmas miracle for many. Sunday Breakfast Mission serves the homeless, addicted, and impoverished in the greater Wilmington region by providing Christ-centered programs helping men, women, and women with children rebuild their lives and restore relationships with God, family, and society.
